What is XX X syndrome ?

Syndrome, XXX (Triple X syndrome, Trisomy X, 47, XXX) occurs if a girl has 3 chromosome X. Humans have 46 chromosomes, 2 of them are sex chromosomes that show gender. Under normal circumstances, women have two X chromosomes (depicted as 46, XX), while males have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (described as 46, XY). XXX syndrome, in every woman's body cells there are three X chromosomes (depicted as 47, XXX).

Approximately 1 in 1,000 babies of women who seem normal, to have this disorder. Symptoms vary widely. Some people with no symptoms or very few symptoms, while other patients have a more severe.

Babies are often quiet and inactive, they have evolved motor function, speech and delayed maturation. The delay this development should be overcome by stimulating mental function, social and motor development, both at home and at special clinics. If there is a developmental disorder talking, speech therapy needs to be done. The girl with three X chromosomes tend to have lower intelligence level than the brother and sister are normal.

Sometimes the syndrome causes infertility, although some patients may have children who have normal chromosomes and physical. Some patients experienced premature menopause.
