What is Lipidosis ?

Lipidosis are diseases caused by abnormalities in the enzymes that break down fat, which resulted in the accumulation of toxic substances produced by fat in the tissues.

A set of specific enzymes help the body break down each type of fat. Abnormalities in these enzymes can cause accumulation of certain fatty material, which under normal circumstances have been solved by the enzyme. Over time, this accumulation could threaten a variety of organs.

Gaucher disease
Niemann-Pick disease
Fabry disease
Wolman disease
Xantomatosis Serebrotendinosa
Sitosterolemi
Refsum disease
Tay-Sachs disease.
